The seed of the testimony of the Lord’s recovery in Indonesia was sown by a number of believers who migrated from China to Indonesia. They had known the truth concerning Christ and the church, especially concerning the testimony of the oneness of the church on the local ground, through the ministry of our Brother Watchman Nee. Based on the vision they had already seen, they started practicing the church life and preaching the gospel. The migration of the believers laid the groundwork for the spreading of the Lord’s recovery from city to city in Java island particularly. However, in the early 1960’s due to the sudden change in political situation in Indonesia, many overseas saints were prevented from coming to Indonesia. As a result, the universal fellowship between the churches in Indonesia and those overseas was practically cut off. But praise the Lord, He arranges and ordains every situation for His church. Near the end of 1965 the situation was totally recovered and the universal fellowship was fully restored.

     In 1987 the brothers received a burden to spread the testimony of the Lord’s recovery to the entire Indonesia. For this burden, they felt the need of training to raise up more of the Lord’s workers and was started in Surabaya (later it was moved to Lawang), conducted by Brother Wu Chen Chang. A number of local workers of the Lord were raised up through the training, and they spread the Lord’s testimony to other islands outside Java island. They labored for the sake of the spreading of the Lord’s testimony, and some of them even forsook their own lives and died in their service for the Lord. This training later inspired the establishing of the Full-time Training in Jakarta (FTTI) as a response to continue and accomplish the burden of spreading the Lord’s testimony to the entire inhabited islands in Indonesia.
     In October 1994, in Jerusalem, Brother Liu Suey proposed the establishment of a full-time training center in Jakarta in order to meet the great need in Indonesia. This was well received by the brothers. Immediately, they contacted Brother Witness Lee and Brother Peter Chen in order to present their feeling on the matter. Brother Witness Lee acknowledged that the Full-Time Training in Indonesia (FTTI) would be the fourth training center after FTTT, FTTA, and FTTM. The training started on January 23rd, 1995 in Jakarta, with the support of co-workers from Anaheim and Taipei in spiritual matters. This was a big step for the spreading and building up of the churches in Indonesia as part of Christ's universal organic Body.
     Through the FTTI, the churches in Indonesia have started to open themselves up to the fellowship of the churches around the world, and especially to the ministry of our beloved Brother Witness Lee. In March 7th-9th, 1995, an International Blending Conference was held in Jakarta. The event became a turning point for the universal building up of the Body of Christ, both for the churches in Indonesia specifically and for the churches throughout the earth in general. The blessings from the FTTI and the fellowship with the other churches have increased the capacity of the churches in Indonesia, and have made them more solid for the Lord’s work and move in Indonesia. Most importantly, this has allowed us experience the reality and building up of the Body of Christ. It shows us how the blessings are brought in among many localities and how the churches are beginning to sprout and blossom throughout the country.
